Happy Cat Transfer

(Submitted by Sophie Désert - December 2024)

A uni friend of mine, Naomy, is about to move from the UK to Australia with her husband. She recently posted on Instagram that they will not be able to take their 2 cats with them because of the long flight, the change in climate and the quarantine regulations. So, they were preparing to put them up for adoption.

In parallel, my sister Laura just got married; her husband is a cat lover and always talking about the day they will get cats. So, when I saw my friend’s post I immediately asked Laura if I could put her in touch with Naomy to see if they could help each other.

They connected, they chatted and ended up meeting in person. And, happily, knowing the back stories and personalities of the cats, Laura and her husband agreed to adopt them.

It’s given Naomy and her husband peace of mind that the cats will be looked after by people they know and trust.

The cat transfer is happening next month and it’s one of those examples of where technology has created a very human (and feline) connection.
